This is a wonderful song by The Who. This song takes you straight to the 70’s era. You can feel the crazy wonderful atmosphere in every guitar riff. This song makes me really happy.
The first time I’ve heard this song was when I watched “American Beauty”. I watched this movie a few times and last night was one of those times. It is such a great movie. I can definitely relate to it these days. as I’ve mentioned already I have quit my job recently and I just walked out of the door the day I’ve resigned and didn’t even give them the 2 weeks’ notice. They sure didn’t deserve that! I’ve decided that from now on I’ll start listening to the voices in my head that tell me to do only things that make me happy as I always did when I was growing up. Somewhere along the line I’ve lost touch with the rebelling teenager in me that played a great role in my life. I’m definitely not going through midlife crisis or anything like that. It’s all about looking back on your life and knowing that you have made the right choices. I choose to experience more than just a few moments of happiness in one day, I want it all and I wanted now! Besides happiness is my true nature and you cannot argue with nature! I hope you enjoy this really cool song as much as I do…
What’s this song about? Around the time of song's release, Townshend explained its meaning in an interview with Rolling Stone: "Quite loosely, "The Seeker" was just a thing about what I call Divine Desperation, or just Desperation. And what it does to people. It just kind of covers a whole area where the guy's being fantastically tough and ruthlessly nasty and he's being incredibly selfish and he's hurting people, wrecking people's homes, abusing his heroes, he's accusing everyone of doing nothing for him and yet at the same time he's making a fairly valid statement, he's getting nowhere, he's doing nothing and the only thing he really can't be sure of is his death, and that at least dead, he's going to get what he wants. He thinks!”(Wikipedia – The Seeker)
This is a great Pearl Jam song from the “Singles” soundtrack. It is one of the best movie soundtracks I’ve ever listened to.
It’s been awhile since I’ve last posted …sounds like the beginning of a creepy confession. Forgive me rock music for I have sinned… lately I have been too busy with work, house chores and a lot of guitar practice. I got rid of the horrible draining job, the house is tidy enough and my guitar still has 6 perfect strings. Now it’s time to listen to some wonderful relaxing music.
I had quit my job a week ago and I’m looking forward to start a new career, I’ve abounded the finance industry for good or at least this is how feel right now. I’m hoping that this time I won’t be scared to invent myself and find new passions, it is scary but as my Hubby says it’s the greatest point in your life, endless possibilities. Luckily he is very supportive. Since I am a little confused and clueless he is helping me figure out what I want. I’m still not sure what I’m going to do but I know what I don’t want to do and that’s a start. I thought this song is quite suitable for this point in my life “and I listen for the voice inside my head nothin', I'll do this one myself” … great song fromthe good old Vedder’s days…
What’s this song is about? According to Ament, the lyrics for "State of Love and Trust" are based on what Vedder took from watching the film, and added, "I think he probably took a heavier angle on what the movie was about than a lot of people will, but that's Eddie, which is a beautiful thing." According to Cameron Crowe, director of Singles, the song is "about battling with your instincts in love." Before a performance of the song at Pearl Jam's September 8, 1998 show in East Rutherford, New Jersey at Continental Airlines Arena, Vedder introduced it as "a song about being faithful."(State of love and trust – Wikipedia)[
This song is by Breaking Benjamin. I never get sick of this song, the music is just awesome ! I’m not really sure what this song is about, sounds like it’s about failed relationship again…
It’s been 10 days since I’ve last posted; I’ve been really busy with work and practicing the guitar. My Hubby and I and our friends that moved with us to Qld all went for a visit in Sydney this weekend. We’ve met with all our friends; we spent most of our time eating meeting friends at the different restaurants. My Hubby and our friend were invited to a bucks night and they had a really good time , my Hubby told me all about the stripers , luckily he wasn’t that impressed . he wasn’t sure of the gender of the main stripper, he showed me a photo and I must say she does look like a man with boobs! While he was partying with a bunch of guys , I’ve met with the girls and we had a nice time , we wentout for dinner and later on went to a new pub and had a drink. One of our friend’s in Sydney told us at dinner that he wrote a song , he was listening to the crappy music on the radio and he realized that he could do much better, since he’s obviously not that busy at work or not that interested , he wrote some wonderful lyrics for a song that he intended to be a techno song. My Hubby and I mentioned to him that we sometimes work on our music , I usually sing and my Hubby composes the music, we both built the structure of the song but mostly it is done by my Hubby since he is very experienced and much more creative then I am. Anyway , we asked our friend to send us the lyrics so we can work on the music. The lyrics are just amazing! This is exactly what we were missing , good lyrics. So these days we are working on a techno version of this song , my Hubby has a really good idea in his head and we are now in the process of creating this beautiful song. I’ve already finished singing it and now my Hubby doing his magic on his music programs. I can’t wait to listen to the finished song. Our dear friends and neighbors are going to contribute to this song as well and it’s going to be a massive project. We are also planning on making a rock version to it which I’m quite excited about since I really want to play the guitar and I love singing rock music. It makes me feel like a real rock star and you never know , we might get famous one day…hopefully I’ll have a chance to post both versions on the song on my blog. In the meantime , I hope you enjoy this following song…
This song is by Anthrax. My Cousin was a big fan of Iron Maiden and Anthrax among and other heavy metal bands. That was the same period I’ve discovered Heavy Metal and I’ve collected a few different albums. I’ve purchased “State of Euphoria” and I’ve played it over and over again. I really liked this album even though it was quite heavy compare to the rest of the music I’ve listened to during that period.I was never much into speed metal. This is a great song. This song is based on Stephen King’s novel “Misery” I really liked the movie as well. It really scared back when I was a teenager.
t’s been a week since my last post. I’ve been really busy lately; my Hubby has been teaching me new things on the guitar. He composed a solo part for me to practice which is quite brilliant and I’m also practicing “Fade to Black” by Metallica. My favourite song of all times! I’m currently playing only a small part of it but it’s so complicated that I would need to practice each part separately if I want to master this song. It might take me awhile but it’s quite fun to practice and see the progress. I just love every minute of it. So I hope you enjoy this song that brings back wonderful memories from at least 20 years ago…

This is another song by Kaiser Chiefs. This song is quite vicious, it makes me laugh. I’m quite sad today so I thought this song will cheer me up little bit. My Hubby went on a snowboarding trip yesterday. he will be back in 3 days. It always makes me sad when he is away. I love hanging out with him every spare minute and from some reason he always likes to be away….hahahaha .We have just finished our little project for our nieces, we have made a song and a video with their photos for their upcoming B-Day’s.it turned out really good. Our families really liked it. Except for my parents, they didn’t show any enthusiasm about it. I got “it’s nice” which is good enough for me ;)I’ve really enjoyed the process of recording the song and then working on the video. I felt like a real rock star during this period and it is quite mind blowing when you listen to your own creation and you actually enjoy it.it was quite a hard work getting there. It’s quite magical though! It was awesome working on a song with my Hubby , he is quite a professional, he knows exactly what he’s doing and what to press to get the best sounds and the best effects. He also knows how to play all instruments which was quite helpful. Anyway I hope my hubby is having fun in the snow! Now back to my wicked song…
This is another song from Foo Fighters new album, it is just awesome! I can’t stop listening to it! It a great song that Dave Grohl wrote about his experience with his first daughter violet when he tried to teach her how to walk and how eventually she managed to walk on her own.
Speaking of walking, when I was 13 I went on a 3 days field trip with my class mates and we were all carrying a backpack filled with food and clothes and a sleeping bags on the first day we were walking on a very slippery muddy road and in the middle of everything there was a fish pool and we had to walk around it, since I was carrying so much on my back I’ve accidently slipped and fell into the pool with all my equipment , my clothes , my food and sleeping bag all got wet and smelly!. It was a horrible experience since I’ve almost drowned in that pool. Luckily I came out of this pool alive, swimming with all my heavy equipment and trying to hold on to very slippery rocks. I remember feeling very sad after this experience. I was worried about what to wear , eat and my sleeping arrangements, I was too embarrassed to ask for help from my friends. Everything I planned for this trip was ruined after that. Luckily all my class mates shared everything with me. They all offered to help out. After that experience I wasn’t keen on going on field trips anymore. The year after it was a different story for me and my friends, we were more focused on smoking and drinking ourselves to death and not getting caught than enjoying the field trip and nature. Years and years later when I met my Hubby we went camping a few times in Galilee Sea, we stayed in a tent and had a nice barbeque all day and it was so much fun! One of the guys had a kiosk and he brought his hot dog machine from his shop and we ate so many hotdogs we couldn’t eat another sausage for at least 6 months. Another guy brought his speedboat and my Hubby did some water skiing and I got a free ride on a cool boat. We also bought really cool river tubes and spend a lot of time in the water! We had such a great time and I was very happy that this time I didn’t share my food with the fish! Check out this awesome song from this amazing album…

What’s this song about? According to Dave Grohl, he came up with the verse about "having a trial" after the time he was helping his first daughter Violet Maye on "learning to walk", and eventually she was able to walk on her own. The song was supposed to be on the previous studio album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, but Dave decided to put the final version as the last track of Wasting Light because it "sort of makes sense to the album's theme of time and second chances", and to "end the record on a positive note"(Wikipedia – Walk)
This song is the Finnish rock band Apocalyptica, featuring Adam Gontier the lead singer of Three Days Grace. My Hubby has found this song for me , He knows my taste. I really love Adam’s voice. I think it’s quite powerful. This weekend my Hubby and I have been working on a song for both our nieces upcoming Birthdays. Both our Sister’s beautiful girls will turn one year old on the 15/08 & 24/08, they are both gorgeous! It’s quite an exciting project. I love our music projects. We are making a cover for a known song but My Hubby managed to make his own music and completely changed the song and it sounds even better than the original. He is playing the guitar, bass guitar, piano, drums and singing background voices. He is quite a talented musician! He would have finished this project on his own if it wasn’t for my unbelievable triangle playing! Just kidding, I’m actually singing and playing the guitar or at least pretending to play the guitar, yes I am aware of my horrible guitar playing! I promise to get better with more practice. My Hubby has this music program that can change the voice of a person or add more background voices and he made my voice sound so good, it’s quite an amazing technology. I’m really looking forward to listen to our finished song. It might take a few more days though. We have also received good news from our dear friends in Sydney they just had a baby girl and they named her Tully after Tully River in Queensland and we are very excited for them. Other than that, life is swell and I have absolutely nothing more to say! so I hope you enjoy this song...
What’s this song about? "I Don't Care" was based upon the instrumental track "Love Song", written by Eicca Toppinen for the Black Ice movie soundtrack. Eicca Toppinen told about the song in an interview for Dutch metal webzine in 2007: "I wrote some of the lyrics to "I Don’t Care." Max Martin wrote most of the lyrics, though. The song is about a fantasy and not about anyone in particular, but I think everyone can find a sense of truth in the lyrics.”(Wikipedia – I don’t care)
This is another great song by Jane’s Addiction , I just love it and I think they are quite an awesome band in general!!! I think this song it’s pretty relevant to the recent horror events that occurred in Norway, A crazy guy (not worth to mention his name on my blog!) that went on a murder spree by bombing central of Oslo and shooting innocent young people and eventually killing 76 people in total and I have no idea how many he had injured and how many lives had been destroyed by his actions. He claimed that he killed all these people to free Europe from Islam. what scares me the most is that we always believed that terror attacks are being executed by extreme Islamic organizations such as “Al Quaida” and Isalamic Leaders that encourage these terror attacks such as Sadam Hussein however America got rid of both Sadam Hussien and Osama Bin Laden and still the world is crazy as it is and every day there are new crazy evil people that find a different reason to destroy other’s people life and creating a real threat to our freedom. The world is gone completely nuts and it really scares me, these days I’m still considering whether it’s a good idea to raise children in this chaotic world. This is a nice line from this song: “don’t save the complaints for party conversations, the world is loaded it’s lit to pop and nobody is gonna stop! “ check out this wonderful song about the current sad situation in the world…

What’s this song about? Here is a nice comment from Songfacts website: In this song, lead singer Perry Farrell takes on environmental destruction and cultural malaise, asking listeners to turn off both their smokestacks and radios. The "water will run" image seemed a little dramatic at the time, but history proved that Farrell was right, as climate change exasperated by humans led to floods and other natural disasters.
This next song is by Children Collide. It is such an awesome song. I dedicate it to the social revolution that is currently happening in Israel.
Hundred Thousands of people in Israel march in cities across Israel to protest against the high cost of living, the ridicules prices of housing, cost of food, fuel ,health and education. This is the biggest social protest ever been in the country. Some of them have lived in tents for the past two weeks all in the name of the social justice. The growing gap between the rich and the poor is a real concern.im glad that finally people are willing to fight for their elementary rights. I’m hoping that this rally will make a difference and Israel will become a country that is good to live in. I am quite impressed by the amount of people that came out of their comfort zone and participate in this social fight. What made me more impressed is the difference between a social revolution in the rest of the Middle East countries such as Egypt, Libya, Syria and the revolution in Israel. All governments in the Arab countries were fighting back and it escalated to violence with many people killed and other injured.as opposed to the Israeli crowd which has been out in the streets for the past two weeks and so far there weren’t any reports of violent incidents. This emphasizes the cultural differences between Israel and the rest of the Middle East countries which is the main reason for the fight between the Israelis and the Arabs. This cultural gap unfortunately will never be resolved due to ego issues from both sides. Ok back to the song, I hope you enjoy it and Viva La Revolution!

“TonightIs gonna be the night
The night you finally win
Finally win the fight
And today
Is gonna be the day
The day you finally break
Finally break away”
This song is by Rise Against. It’s another cool song that was discovered by my Hubby, He is definitely Henry’s best private investigator with all his findings so far! It has great lyrics as well, it talks about working for the man situation, being a 9 to 5 kind of guy. It’s not easy, trust me I go through it every day and I’m not sure how long I can survive!
Anyway, back to my army stories. When I was in the army I was very spoiled and I’ve chosen to be hated by my unit friends than doing any chores! There were many things to do in my unit which was a real bummer! Once a week all the soldiers in my unit had to clean up the entire unit. It was a very annoying task that took a lot of energy from everyone; we even had to clean the unit toilets. Anyway , as I’ve mentioned before I was quite a selfish bitch back then , I’ve spoken to my commander about it and I’ve managed to convincehim that as a senior secretary I shouldn’t be part of the soldiers chores since I’m working harder than the rest of the soldiers and I always have to be available in case of an emergency. Of course he didn’t argue with that since he knew I was quite a trouble maker and he better get me off all chores. None of the officers had any issue with this decision. The only person that had a huge problem with it was the soldier that was in charge of the maintenance in my unit. For a while he didn’t say anything, one day we had a big clean up for the base commander, This guy came over to my office and said “ you are going to clean with the rest of us and you will do whatever I tell you to do…” I got really annoyed and replied “ do you see that tree outside , I’m going to climb it now and give you orders…” to give you a bit of a background about that tree, It was located outside of our unit in the entrance and if you looked up to the second floor from the entrance there was our unit meeting room which had huge windows. During my fight with this guy we had an officer meeting in that room. Anyway back to the tree , even though I’m scared of heights I had to prove my point to this guy so I’ve started climbing the tree, of course I fell from the tree because I couldn’t stop laughing , at this point this guy was laughing as well. I’ve managed to get a nasty bruise on my forearm , nothing serious but It was quite sore. My commander and his officers watched me falling from the tree during their officer’s meeting , my commander just shook his head as he couldn’t understand what I was doing on that tree. Eventually I didn’t clean anything and no one really cared about afterwards, back to this awesome song , check it out..
What’s this song about? Frontman Tim McIlrath spoke to MTV News about this song: "It's talking a lot about the 9-to-5, dog-eat-dog lifestyle, and what we are asked to do to simply make ends meet nowadays, and I think it's a feeling shared by people all around the world and especially in this country." (Wikipedia – Re-Education (Through Labor)
This song is by Metallica. This is from their latest album, It is such an awesome song! I’ve been a fan of Metallica since the age of 14, I know most of their old stuff not so much their latest releases. I did listen to this album and fell in love with this song.
I’ve been to only one Metallica show back in my own motherland, before they got rid of the awesome Jason Newsted. It was an unbelievable performance, one of the best shows I’ve seen so far. There were no special effects; it was pure real rockers in action playing their instruments. People got excited and they were all trying to get closer to the stage, my friends and I got completely suffocated trying to get near the stage as well but it was worth dying for! The thing I remember the most is that an hour before the show there were 2 half naked girls that created quite a commotion and thousands of boys just circled them, I saw the circle thinking that maybe the band decided to show up early and mixed up with the crowd, It was quite a disappointment to see a bunch of horny guys around these naked girls. Another thing that happened is a lot of people fainted because people were pushing each other trying to reach the stage. One of the guys that fainted was a guy that was from my town , this guy was the biggest guy I’ve ever seen in my life. He was fat and tall and I’m not sure what he was more – fat or tall, maybe a bit of both I guess! the place was so packed that this mountain guy just collapsed. That’s when I realized that being a small person is not too bad after all, and that’s how I’ve survived a Metallica show! BTW my Hubby was in the same show , we missed another opportunity to meet earlier ; )Check out this amazing song… Link to my previous post about Metallica:Fade to Black
What’s this song about? On August 4, 2008 (2008-08-04), in an MTV interview, the song lyrics were said to tackle the subject of forgiveness and resentment. The band's drummer Lars Ulrich claimed that the lyrics were inspired by a father-son relationship. The content of the video itself is of a different theme or setting that what the lyrics themselves were written about, a second interpretation. The video is said to be in a war background in comparison to the "One" video, but will not make any modern day references as in the war in Iraq and the Middle East (although the video depicts images of Middle East war in present day, they do not imply any political statement). (Wikipedia – The Day That Never Comes)
This song is by Incubus. It’s a cool song, I like it! This song is about facing your fears and not letting your fears control your life. I’m not really good in implementing it in my own personal life. Every day I go to an office job that I can’t stand! And lately it’s been killing me but I’m too scared of failures and I’m not really sure what I’m good at so my simple solution is to compromise! I know I’m becoming very numb and I’m completely abusing myself but I’m too lazy and scared to start somewhere new.I have a few hobbies that I have developed over the years and I keep learning new things all the time , My Hubby encourages me to develop myself all the time and I think it is important to have these things in your life that makes you happy. It’s important to be passionate about something in life otherwise I don’t see the point of living at all. So every day I make sure to do something that makes me happy!
Speaking of driving, I’m probably the worst driver ever lived! I’ve completed my driving license when I was 28 , Only because my parents wouldn’t pay for my driving lessons and every time I’ve earned some money I’ve spent it on things that I thought were more important than driving . anyway , when I first met my hubby he thought it was quite strange that I don’t drive and so he made me promise that I will get my license by the end of the summer…I forgot to mention which summer …4 years later I got my license. It was quite a struggle for me to focus on the road for more than 5 minutes, it is quite boring and I’m easily distracted. I took hundreds or even thousands of lessons and I can still say – I cannot drive! I even had a teacher that gave up on me after 100 lessons, he said “you know some people can drive and others just don’t need to drive…” hahahah I guess I broke all records , even my driving teacher felt bad taking my money knowing that I suck !Anyway, I do have my license now , it goes well with the rest of my magnetic cards collection that I carry in my purse. Other than that I don’t really use it! I feel like this is my greatest contribution to society – I’ve probably saved a lot of life by not driving! No need to thank me! oh well , you welcome and I hope you enjoy this song !
What’s this song about? Here is a comment from Songfacts: Lead singer Brandon Boyd: "The lyric is basically about fear, about being driven all your life by it and making decisions from fear. It's about imagining what life would be like if you didn't live it that way."
This song is by 12 Stones. I don’t know what this song is about, The music is pretty good so who cares what they are singing about! Speaking of mothers , I’ll tell you about a guy that I’ve dated in the army which btw my mum didn’t really approved…anyway , I started seeing this guy from my Army Unit and I knew nothing about him. I knew his first name and last name but what I didn’t know at the time that his parents were divorced and he kept his Dad’s name and his mother changed her last name back to her maiden name.one day he didn’t show up to the unit because his mum was in hospital. In the army you have to have a doctor certificate and a really damn good excuse not to show up. He kept faxing a hospital certificate to our main office so he can have the day off. Back then I was the senior secretary of the Unit Commander and as part of my daily duties I had to monitor the fax machine. I kept receiving these faxes that looked like a hospital certificate with a Lady’s name that I didn’t recognize. No one in my unit had this surname. Instead of asking who it belongs to, I assumed it was faxed to our office by mistake and I’ve binned it, quite an easy solution. He kept faxing the certificates and I chucked away all of those faxes he sent. At the same time his officer thought he was lying so he decided to punish him once he comes back to the base. When this guy returned to the unit he got 2 days detention. Since he lived next to the base he used to go home every day. I lived 6 hours from the base so I had to stay for the entire week. It was quite nice that he got the detention because he got to spend more time with me. At that time I didn’t know anything about his family and I couldn’t understand how I didn’t get the faxes he sent to his officer, he kept calling me every time he sent a fax to confirm that I’ve received it and I kept saying that I didn’t. Two weeks after this incident, he invited me over to his house. When we got to his house I saw a sign on the door with his mother’s name. I recognized the name from the faxes I’ve binned on that day. I’ve realized that I was the reason he got the 2 days detention! It was quite funny, I was giggling to myself, hoping he will never find out about it. I ended up seeing this guy for 7 months and never once mentioned this story to him. Luckily he doesn’t read my blog…check out this awesome song…
This next song is by Arctic Monkeys. It’s a new song from their new album and it’s quite awesome! Discovered by my Hubby and adopted by HenryRulez ; ) the lyrics are quite funny , They must have been pretty stoned when they wrote it!!! Speaking of sitting down in the wrong places at the wrong time, I once got very drunk in a night club and I fell asleep on a bench. When I woke up I realized I couldn’t move my head because it got stuck in between the gaps of the bench. My girlfriends spent quite some time trying to pull my head out of the bench. It was just hilarious! We all couldn’t stop laughing which made it even harder to fix the problem. Finally I’ve managed to escape with no damage to my head or the bench. I’ve definitely entertained a few people that night. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this awesome song…
What’s this song about? This is a comment from songfacts website: The inspiration for the song came from a comment chief Monkeys songwriter Alex Turner made whilst recording the soundtrack for his friend Richard Ayoade's debut film, Submarine. He recalled to the NME: "I said it to somebody whose chair I'd moved and I didn't want them to hurt themselves. This was while we were in the studio doing the Submarine recording. James (Ford, producer) said, 'Oh that sounds like it could be a '60s garage 'Nuggets' tune and be called that. So then we thought, 'Well, OK if that's what you can't do (sit down because your chair has been moved), then what sort of ridiculous things can you do that probably more dangerous than if you just sit down?'
But also I quite like that it's, y'know.. Well, you don't want people to be sat down, do you? You want them to be up."
This is a song by Daughtry, a band that was formed by Chris Daughtry who was the finalist of the TV show American Idol. I personally can’t stand this show, I find it very boring! I guess it’s a great way to get some exposure. I’ve watched some of the auditions to American Idol and it was hilarious, a lot of strange people. I think it’s all staged otherwise I can’t explain all these weird crazy people! I’ve added my favourite audition by General Larry Platt! My Hubby and I got addicted to “Rock Star Supernova” that was the best reality show ever done. It was 15 people from all around the world that competing to become the lead singer of a band formed by drummer Tommy Lee from Motley Crue, Bassist Jason Newsted former Metallica and guitarist Gilby Clarke former Guns N’ Roses. I love Jason Newsted , he is an awesome guy! It was also hosted by Dave Navarro lead guitarist of Jane’s Addiction which is a brilliant guitar player. Now that was a great show! Our favourite singer was a south African girl named Dilana ,she was absolutely amazing ! she didn’t win though. I think they thought she was too confident and decided to take someone else that was pretty good as well. There was a contestant from Australia named Toby Rand. He was quite awesome as well. The entire show features the best rock songs and it was a lot of fun watching it. Anyway, check out this wonderful mushy song…
This song is a cover song by Gun. It is such a nice cover for the Hip Hop song by Cameo. I’ve also included Korn’s version which is pretty good as well.
Speaking of guns I’ll continue my Army adventures. When I was in the army I was dating a guy from my unit. One weekend we drove from the base to his house and we took one of his friends from our unit with us. During the drive, his friend kept slapping the back of my head. I asked him to stop but he wouldn’t stop. My boyfriend then asked him to stop as well but he was an annoying guy so he wouldn’t stop. At the same time I was holding a closed can of coke. I thorough the can of coke towards him but I missed him in an inch, I used it as a warning. The guy completely went mad and through the can of coke in my face and he didn’t miss. He hit me in my right eye and it was very painful. My eye was completely swollen and red and I looked horrible. We drove to the hospital because it looked and felt pretty serious. Eventually there was no damage to my eye but it looked like I’ve been bashed pretty hard. When I came back to the base after the weekend, the lieutenant commander asked me how I got my bruised eye. My answer was “I fell down the stairs”. Of course he didn’t believe me and he wanted to know who did that to me. I didn’t want to snitch on this guy because he was my boyfriend’s friend and also I knew that if I will tell the truth he would go on trial and be punished. That’s the way it works in the army. For a week I was being hassled by My Lieutenant commander. He kept asking who did that to me and I kept saying that I fell down the stairs. At some point he got really irritated and told me that If I won’t tell him the name of the person who did that to me then he will trail me for “damaging the army’s property” and if you are wondering which property he was referring to then that would be – me , I was the army’s property!!! I was very annoyed to find out that I was a property and in addition to my physical suffering I will have to be punished for someone else’s stupidity. Of course at this point the guy already confessed to the Lieutenant and he also escaped a punishment. The Lieutenant commander was just an asshole that wanted to break my spirit, thank god this guy finally told the truth, a few more threats and I would have sold the entire unit. Anyway check out this cool song…
What’s this song about? Here is a comment from Songfacts website: "Word Up" is a saying that was popular in New York and other urban areas in the US that acted as an affirmation of what was said, kind of a hipper "You Bet." Cameo developed a character around the saying and wrote the lyrics about what he would say. They called the character "Vicious" and had him take out his frustrations on rappers who delve into psychodrama when they should be creating music you can dance to: "Give us music, we can that, we need to dance. We don't need that type of psychological romance."
This song is by Alice in Chains. It is such a great song and a great album.Layne Staley was an amazing vocalist and performer! ’ve read that Layne wrote this song about his Dad and how he used to punish him when he was naughty by making him sit on a timeout chair in front of a mirror. It’s quite weird for my taste. It can drive a kid crazy. Anyway back to my stupid teenage days stories. My friend and I came back one day from our road adventures and we were hitchhiking in the middle of the night. The only car that stopped was a car driven by 3 guys in their middle 20’s after a night out. It was the only car on the road and we were very cold and dying to get home already and of course back then we were quite brainless. As we got into the car the guy sitting next to us started touching us and he was making signs to his friends and then it clicked – if we won’t get out of the car we might be the next rape victims. Both my friend and I were very scared. My friend was sitting next to the car’s door, I sat in the middle. My friend screamed at the driver “stop the car! “ the driver got confused at the same time his friend told him not to stop. The driver was slowing down but still kept going. My friend looked at me and whispered “I’m going to jump now and you’ll jump straight after me”. The driver was going maybe 70km and my friend opened the door and rolled on the ground, I’ve joined her a few seconds after. That was quite a scary experience; luckily there were no other cars on the road. Nothing happened to us, just a few bruises but nothing serious. It was so scary and I couldn’t believe that my fragile skinny friend would just jump out of a moving car. We felt like we were part of a shitty action movie and it was just crazy! Of course we didn’t learn any lesson from this experience as well. As I’ve mentioned before we didn’t use our brain that often back then. Check out this amazing song…

What’s this song about? The song was one of the few written entirely by vocalist Layne Staley for the band. In the liner notes of 1999's Music Bank box set collection, guitarist Jerry Cantrell said of the song:Such a brilliant song. I'm very proud of Layne for writing it. When I've stepped up vocally in the past he's been so supportive, and here was a fine example of him stepping up with the guitar and writing a masterpiece. (Wikipedia – Angry Chair)
